At this time of the year that our tempo has dropped it is important to take a look at what we can do to regain the lost tranquility of the previous months. So introspection, a look inside us where we focus on the present, what we have accomplished, if we have fullfilled the goals that we had set, if we feel satisfied or not helps us get in touch with ourselves and think about how we want to move forward.
Once we have identified the strong and weak points of our actions it is important to take into consideration what we could have done better in order to achieve the best possible result. We need to emphasize the advantages and disadvantages of our actions so that we can modify those parts that have led to negative results. This process will help us function better so that we can achieve what we want.
Beyond these cognitive processes it is necessary that we get in touch with our body, recognize the signs of tension in order to relax and gain positive energy. In particular we need to depict which parts of our body are tightened, for example stomach, neck, shoulder so that we can relax them by using relaxation techniques such as progressive neuromuscular relaxation where we tighten and loosen all the muscle groups of our face and body in order to feel well. Also diaphragmatic breathing helps us relax as we breathe slowly and deeply through our nose and exhale in the same way through our mouth.
We should not forget to occupy our mind with beautiful images and music as they provoke feelings of pleasure and distract us from any negative thought. All these can be done when we dedicate time to ourselves in a quiet corner of our house or in another harmonious place.
In this way we purify our mind and body. So let’s give ourselves this gift as it is always with us in our unique path of life.
