Many times we think we do not define our lives. It looks as if we believe that our life is ruled by the forces of fate. So we expect the situation to be changed in order our lives to be changed. So who defines our fate, our life? We define a large extent of our fate, our lives as we choose those paths that will lead us to the achievement or not of our goals.
Each person chooses to lead his life utilizing the appropriate resources. And how does it happen? Every second pass through our minds various thoughts where some are kept and others are deleted. From those that will be kept we will act upon their implementation where the emotion provoked by this process can be either positive, for example Joy, excitement, or negative, for example Frustration, unhappiness. The positive emotions are always welcome. What happens to the negative ones, how do we deal with them? The answer is that it depends on the prime importance of our thoughts, how important the implementation was (what impact it had on our self image), what expectations we had (How things would progress).
So our motives play an important role in how we interpret a possible negative outcome. For this reason we must be ready to face every possible “failure”. How can we do this? The way we deal with this is based on the evaluation of our actions where we realise our deficiencies. Specifically we must take a look on the steps that we have followed and what should have been done differently in order to have better results, what were the consequences of each step we have followed (advantages-disadvantages) and what would be the consequences of selecting different steps (advantages-disadvantages) that would be more beneficial for us at this stage but also in future situations. In this way we can make decisions by recording the availability of our forces, the effectiveness of our choices and take responsibility for our actions.
The experience we gain from this procedure will help us improve ourselves as we learn through our mistakes. And as it is commonly accepted, whatever doesn’t kill us makes us stronger. We should always remember that each person has a limitless inner wealth, which emerges at critical moments in our lives and surprises us pleasantly. This shows that we can deal with every situation in a sufficient way provided that we believe in ourselves, in our abilities and our responsibility for our lives.
